Not to nit pick but the neighborhood that Flying Bison resides is called Riverside.

The west side is typically saved for those areas south of Black Rock which is just south of Riverside.

My favorite brew from them is the Buffalo Lager but Aviator Red is by far their most popular.

As for distribution when I took the tour over a year ago they were mostly limited to Western NY but were making headways at certain bars or establishments in places like Pittsburgh, Cleveland.

Lastly their mustaches are amazing... I could imagine them rolling barrels around without much imagination.

what a great commentary, this lady really said it like it is.. we love knoxville, especially TRIO, so glad that she found it and was pleased, we have been there many, many times and so have our friends, everyone loves the Market Square and TRIO's......

Thank you for your comments and for giving me a little background of which I was not aware.

I can only comment on the food, service and circumstances the night I was there. I did not know that the location was new and I appreciate your taking the time to point that out but, nonetheless, the food and service the night I was there were very bad. The prices were low, I'm not sure saying the food is bad but the prices are low would have made any difference either. I would have rather paid a little more and had better service and a server who knew the menu and knew which beers were available. I cannot comment on the entertainment because there was none the night we were there. A band was setting up but left and did not return while we were at the restaurant.

The location is fantastic, the view incredible, the building a treasure. I certainly hope that the brothers are able to put something together that will take advantage of the many pluses the site has to offer.

Thanks also for letting me know the origin of the name, I certainly salute those who have served in that elite branch of the service. Should the restaurant be revived and that name kept, I would suggest using some sort of logo or signage that would explain it as it is not a name that makes one immediately think of good food in a great river location; that being said, the name could certainly be developed into a recognizable brand.

Best of luck to the brothers in perhaps reopening this venue. We will check back in the next time we are in the area and review it again if it should be open.

I agree with the review of the beauty and potential of this restaurant - BADFROGS! I disagree on the comments about food and service. The location was new at the time your review was made, yet you make no point of saying this. Having traveled from New York 3 times to visit that specific location I can tell you the atmosphere, unique experience of the staff - yes the wait staff did become familiar with the fare and unique drinks and beer on tap. I personally spoke with people who took advantage of the river to arrive by boat and specifically for the excellent seafood dishes making mention of the low LOW prices. The entertainment - hmmmmm, I also find this rather unusual as the bands we saw the 2nd and 3rd visit were rocking - had people dancing all over the patio outside and played til closing. My only problem - we had to keep it to one night at the river front establishment as we didn't want to miss the fun, cheap good eats, entertainment and locals at the original BADFROGS in Lisbon. The primary location prompted 6 to 7 visits last year ....friends from all over NorthAmerica came in in groups of 10 to 12 on each of these trips. We found it a safe, centrally located, clean, fun & exciting experience. We are all a bit miffed about where we want to hook up for get togethers this year - never in our 3 plus years as meeting all over the country did any such place make it self so keenly a place of safe, clean fun and friendship.

It is incredibly sad that a trio of brothers - Navy SEALs, hence the tongue and cheek name "BADFROGS" - whose first priority is too their commitment to service of our nation and those less fortunate than us, made it impossible to exploit the ultimate full potential of this location and motivate similiar commitments of the locals and town. I am so sad that BADFROGS has, like many great ventures, been forced to close as a result of the economy and circumstances beyond its control. I hold out hope that they will return in a form that allows them the full success they deserve and the kind of environment that I would get on an airplane to get to in a heartbeat. BADFROGS come back soon we miss you, your spirit and the experience, excellent priced and tasting food and entertainment in a clean safe environment.

1. What's the area the FB distributes to?

2. Which of their beers would you recommend?

I'm looking forward to hearing more about Buffalo, a place that hasn't cought my attention as a destination yet.
